About GCRflow

GCRflow is a professional Gray Component Replacement (GCR) color conversion service for prepress and print shops, used in the browser. It converts PDF and TIFF files; the output has the same format as the input.

GCR strength

GCR replaces the gray component that cyan, magenta and yellow share with black ink. With ColorField 1 you choose the strength from GCR0 to GCR100, with optional rich-black boost and Low Gray Enhancement.

Paper standards and total ink

Official presets convert to GRACoL 2013 at TAC 320%. Custom presets can use GRACoL 2013, Fogra 27, Fogra 39 or Fogra 51 and a total ink limit from 260% up to the profile's maximum.

Ready for print

The output is print-ready: RGB is converted to CMYK, total ink stays within the chosen limit, pure black text stays single black and an output intent is embedded.

RGB handling

RGB with an embedded ICC profile is converted per object using that profile; untagged RGB defaults to ECI-RGB V1.0 and can be switched to sRGB, Adobe RGB or Display P3.
