GCRflow Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-10-26
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of GCRflow ("GCRflow", "we", "us"). GCRflow is operated by an independent developer and is not yet incorporated. These terms apply when you use www.gcrflow.com, cmykflow.com ("CMYKflow"), the GCRflow developer API, the CMYKflow plugin for Figma, the Ink Checker and the assistant Flow (together, the "Service"). The China site (gcrflow.cn) has its own terms.
By creating an account or using the Service you accept these terms. If you use the Service for a company, you accept them for that company and confirm you may do so.
1. The Service
GCRflow converts PDF and TIFF files for printing: it replaces the gray component of colors with black ink (GCR) at the strength you choose, converts RGB to CMYK and keeps the total ink within the limit of the selected preset. CMYKflow is a simpler tool by GCRflow that turns PDFs from design tools into print-ready CMYK PDFs. The Ink Checker shows ink coverage and separations; it runs in your browser. Flow answers questions about the Service.
Results depend on your files, the settings you choose and the printing conditions. On-screen previews and ink figures are approximations. Check a proof before you print; we cannot guarantee that a printed result will match your expectations.
We may change, add or remove features. Some features are free for now; we may start charging for them, and we will say so in the Service before a charge applies.
2. Your account
- You can sign in with an e-mail address and password or with Google. Keep your sign-in details safe; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Give us a correct e-mail address. Some features need a verified address.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. To buy credits or make any other payment, you must be of legal age where you live, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Teams. A team owner can invite members or create member accounts. The team owner can see each member's e-mail address and display name, the credit allowance the owner gives them and the credits they use. Credits bought by the team owner belong to the team owner.
3. Your files and content
- You keep all rights to your files. You give us permission to store, process, convert and preview them, and to show the results to you and to people you share them with, only to provide the Service to you.
- We do not use your files to train AI or machine-learning models.
- Our staff can open a file or its job record when needed for support, security, abuse prevention or a legal obligation. Staff downloads of files are logged.
- Files are deleted after the retention period described in section 7. The Service is not a storage or backup service: keep your own copies.
4. Acceptable use
You must:
- own your files or have the rights needed to upload and convert them;
- not upload anything unlawful, infringing, or harmful (for example malware);
- not try to get around limits, payments or security, for example by creating many accounts or guest sessions to collect free credits or free conversions;
- not try to copy, extract or rebuild our conversion (for example by converting test charts systematically to reproduce our color tables), and not decompile or reverse-engineer the Service, except where the law allows it regardless of this term;
- keep developer API keys secret (never put them in a web page) and respect the request limits.
Custom Device Link (characterized templates). To build one you convert our chart files with your own color system and upload the results. You must have the right to use the output of the system you use for this (including any license terms that apply to it).
We may detect use that breaks these rules. In that case we may limit, change or refuse processing of the files concerned, or suspend the account.
5. Credits and payments
- At present, conversions on www.gcrflow.com do not deduct credits, and CMYKflow takes no payments. We will say so in the Service before this changes.
- Paid features on www.gcrflow.com use credits. You buy credits through Stripe's checkout page; we never receive your card number. Prices and the amount of credits are shown before you pay.
- Credits are used as shown in the Service at the time of use. A conversion that fails is not charged.
- Credits expire 365 days after the most recent time credits were added to your account; adding credits extends all your credits. Expired credits can be restored if credits are added within 30 days after expiry; after that they are lost.
- Free credits, promotional codes and team allowances have no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred.
- CMYKflow charges a one-time payment per file when a payment applies. There is no subscription.
- Refunds: within 14 days of a purchase you can ask for a refund of the purchased credits you have not used, by writing to support@gcrflow.com. Credits already used, free credits and credits from promotional codes are not refunded and have no cash value. Files deleted at the end of their retention period are not refunded. Where the law gives you further refund rights, those rights apply.
- The price shown is the amount you pay: we do not currently charge VAT or sales tax on top of it. Where the applicable law requires otherwise, what the checkout page shows applies.
6. Our rights
The Service, its software, conversion methods, color tables, presets, and the names GCRflow, ColorField and CMYKflow belong to us or our licensors. A characterized template built for your team can be used only inside the Service, by your team; it cannot be downloaded or exported. These terms do not give you any right to our trademarks.
7. File retention
- On www.gcrflow.com you choose how long files are kept: 1, 7 or 30 days (default 1 day). After that, the original and the results of the job can no longer be downloaded and are deleted automatically.
- CMYKflow keeps files for 7 days after upload, or 30 days from payment for a paid file. Guest files are kept for 24 hours.
- Deleted files cannot be restored by you. Details are on the page "Data and file retention" (www.gcrflow.com/data-retention).
8. Third-party services
Parts of the Service rely on other providers, such as Google (hosting, sign-in, storage, the model behind Flow) and Stripe (payments). Their own terms apply to your use of their services. Names of design tools mentioned in the Service (for example Canva or Figma) belong to their owners; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including about fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or that the Service is free of errors. Flow can make mistakes; check important answers in the Service or with us.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data or printing costs; and our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 50. This limit does not apply to liability that the law does not allow to be limited, for example for intentional misconduct, gross negligence or personal injury, or under mandatory consumer protection law.
11. Ending your use
- You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in Settings › Account. What is deleted, and when, is described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or to protect the Service or other users. When possible we will tell you why.
- When you delete your account, any unused credits are forfeited. If you want a refund under section 5, ask for it before you delete the account.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with a new effective date. For important changes we will also tell you in the Service or by e-mail before they apply. If you keep using the Service after the change applies, the new terms apply.
13. Disputes
If you have a dispute with us, please write to support@gcrflow.com first. We will both try in good faith to settle it within 30 days. These terms do not affect the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection law of the place where you live.
