Data and file retention

How long files are kept

• You choose how long the files of your conversions are kept: 24 hours (default), 7 days or 30 days. The setting is in Settings › General (File retention).
• The period is counted from each conversion. A change applies to new conversions.
• This covers the original you uploaded and everything made from it: results, previews and the conversion report.

When the period ends

• The job stays in your list, but its files can no longer be downloaded.
• The files are deleted automatically by a clean-up that runs every hour.
• If you converted the same upload several times, the original is kept until the last of those jobs ends.
• Expired files cannot be restored by you. Download what you need in time.

After deletion

• Deleted files stay in our storage provider's recovery protection for 7 more days, then they are gone permanently.
• In any case, every uploaded original and conversion result is removed from storage no later than 45 days after it was created.

Deleting a job or your account

• Deleting a job removes it from your list and deletes its files at once (a job still converting: within a few hours, after the conversion has ended). A file another of your jobs still uses is deleted with the last of them.
• Deleting your account (Settings › Account) cannot be undone. It deletes your sign-in, profile, sign-in history, jobs and files, presets, ICC profiles, templates you own, API keys and messages — and your CMYKflow files (same account). A team owner first removes the team's members.
• Payment records and credit history are kept as accounting law requires, without your account ID or e-mail address. A keyed code of your e-mail address stays so that the sign-up gift is not given twice.

Records about your account

• Sign-in records (time, IP address, browser): the latest 20, none older than 12 months.
• Records of suspicious use and developer API audit records: 12 months. Assistant daily counters: 3 days.
• How you found us (the first and the latest visit source: referring site, landing page, link tags; no IP address, no full web address): kept with your account and deleted with it; for a guest session that never becomes an account, 90 days. Visit and event totals by source contain no account ID and have no fixed end date.

CMYKflow

• Files are kept for 7 days after upload, or 30 days from payment for a paid file.
• Files uploaded as a guest (without signing in) are kept for 24 hours.
• Files you open in the Ink Checker stay in your browser and are not uploaded.

Other things you save

• Presets, saved ICC profiles and characterized templates are kept until you (or your team owner) delete them.
• Chart files returned to build a characterized template are deleted after 7 days.
